Paving

We offer paving in a range of natural and man made materials to suit both your taste and budget and these can also be laid in a style of your choice e.g. random, patterns, grids, crazy etc.

Whether it is a small patio area or a large driveway, with our many years of experience you can be assured of a job that will last the test of time.

Walling

Using classic bricks, stone or concrete blocks (which can be rendered and painted) for raised planters, piers and steps. Also re-claimed or new railway sleepers make excellent garden walls for an alternative/softer texture to a garden.

Decking

A very popular and cost effective way of creating a change of level, ideal for sloping gardens, veranda’s, steps and raised seating areas.

Fencing

There is a wide choice of panels on the market from classic larch-lap to close board and trellis all available in a range of qualities and finishes to suit all budgets some of which can be custom made.

Closeboard fencing is a much stronger type of fencing and makes fencing up and down slopes much easier.

Lawns

If your garden has seen better days why not have a complete soft landscape makeover, with a planting plan to replace or add new plants, shrubs and trees to existing or new boarders.

A new lawn can transform an area, especially if your existing lawn is uneven or in bad condition.

Turfing is a quick fix to get a lovely green lawn or with different seed mixtures to suit any gardens need from fine lawns for formal areas to harder wearing grasses for child friendly and sports areas.

Driveways

Besides the obvious practical function of a driveway (which can often be improved with thoughtful design and construction), there is also the potential for a significant aesthetic function i.e. a beautiful driveway will make you feel better every time you enter or leave your home. Using Block pavers or gravel.

Bespoke Planters

Treated Timber and Sleepers, Brick, rendered and painted Block, Natural Stone are all good materials for creating planters and/or raised areas.

Used creatively, they can be used as fixed or moveable barriers, which divide areas to provide different functions within your garden. Or, they can simply hide less attractive elements of your property from view.

Planting

Whilst it has been stated that Avalon Landscapes is a 'Hard Landscaping' specialist. Having been trained in Horticulture, we have the knowledge and skills to both help our clients with choosing plants, shrubs, trees which are appropriate to the conditions (soil type, sun, shade, etc.) and by selecting good quality plants and planting them properly.

Sheds, Gazebos and Summer Houses

We are very happy to prepare the ground for structures such as sheds, gazebos and summerhouses and can offer our clients advice on good local manufacturers and suppliers.

Water & Architectural Features

A special feature in your garden makes it unique and attractive. Water features including pools for fish or fountains, self-contained water features with pebbles, stones or slate or maybe a bog garden.

Timber constructions like a pergola add height in flat gardens as well as providing climbing plants a frame and shade.

Statues give maintenance free focal and interest points to any garden. Rockies are great for natural banks especially if combined with a waterfall or stream. Barbeques and Fire Pits will not only add a feature to your garden but can offer the added benefit of becoming a good excuse for a party or social gathering.

Design

With over 20 years of experience, Stuart can work with you to form a design to suit your aesthetic and functional requirements. However, should you wish to engage a specialist garden designer for your project, then we are happy to work to his or her plan.

Note: if you don't already know a Garden Designer, we can recommend one for you.

Lighting

We are neither outdoor lighting specialists nor qualified electricians and therefore do not install anything electrical our self. However, we do fully understand how lighting can truly enhance your garden and should you wish to have lighting installed, this should be planned in advance so that we can pre-lay and/or hide cables.

Note: if you don't already know a suitable and qualified electrician, we can recommend one for you.

Maintenance

An all year round service to the highest standards including Lawn care, hedge cutting, pruning, mulching, composting, weeding, boarder care, chainsaw and clearance work.

Please note at this moment in time we do not have a regular maintenance round so only undertake one off jobs.
